FIFA 17 has begun in earnest, with Electronic Arts the first video games publisher to showcase its wares. In a synchronised event from Los Angeles and London, At FIFA 17 press conference, Peter Moore said we'll "live in real football worlds and meet characters full of depth and animation" in FIFA 17's The Journey story mode. He also announced that Premier League managers are in the game for the first time. There will be four managers in FIFA 17.
Andromeda: Bioware took to the stage to discuss the next Mass Effect game. The pitch was "building on the things you love" about the old series, but with more freedom for gameplay, and all powered by the Frostbite engine. More information is coming in Q3 and we were shown a behind-the-scenes trailer rather than a complete focus on gameplay. The game does, off course, take place in the Andromeda galaxy, allowing Bioware a lot of freedom to change things up. But don't panic: The Mako tank is back. FIFA 17 including Arsenal's Arsène Wenger and Manchester United's Jose Mourinho.

These are all good additions to Fifa, but they are not the improvements that were needed. Control of the ball is still frustrating, and passing is as inaccurate and infuriating as in recent years. Quick passing is a crapshoot, with the direction of the analogue stick or the length of time you hold down pass seeming to have little influence on the outcome.
Some passes are tepid, rolling forward a few yards before being picked up by an opponent, while other passes shoot well beyond any teammate and out for a throw-in. The switch to Frostbite has opened up a lot of opportunities for the FIFA team and they are now introducing The Journey mode into their newest title. This is essentially story mode where players will follow the life of young footballer Alex Hunter and his rise up through the Premier League. By using the Frostbite engine the team has managed to create a world outside the pitch with parts of the narrative taking the player away from the matches.
EA showed off the first ‘proper’ trailer for the highly-anticipated sci-fi RPG Mass Effect: Andromeda, which developer BioWare are promising will offer more freedom than any game the studio has made before. Andromeda is a completely separate story from the original Mass Effect trilogy, following humanity’s exploration of the neighbouring Andromeda galaxy. It’s all running on EA’s proprietary Frostbite engine, and while the glimpses of gameplay were all too brief, it does look rather splendid.
