The highly anticipated FIFA 16 demo from EA Sports is set to be released between Sept. 8-10, with users living in certain time zones already able to download it. Xbox users will be able to download it on Sept. 8, depending on geographical location. It will become available on PlayStation 4 sometime during the evening of Sept. 7 and 8, reports the Independent. Well it’s clear that EA have adopted the ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ mantra, so for the large part, in-game menus remain unchanged but for a light, shiny skin over the top. The same goes for team lineup screens; anybody who’s ever picked up a games controller will have no problems navigating the game.
However, when your team marches out onto the field, that’s when the changes come thick and fast. There are plenty of great little tweaks that have culminated in a solid end product, but one thing is clear: EA have listened to fans of the game and set about fixing the issues that will only be raised when the game has been played obsessively across the year. In case you're wondering if there's a bite rating, there isn't. If there was, Luis Suarez would probably have a 99 in that category. As it is, his 88 rating in dribbling and shooting makes him a dangerous teammate for Messi and Neymar Jr. If Barcelona gets the ball close to the striking area, they have as many dynamic options as anyone. The big news is that this year's update of FIFA will include... gasp... FEMALE PLAYERS. Not such a radical move, you would think, but it caused great consternation when it was revealed that FIFA 16 will include some international teams from the women's game. About time too.
FIFA 16 features 12 Women’s National Teams for the first time in franchise history and also include game modes Match Day, an Offline Tournament, and Online Friendly Matches. We will know more after the EA press conference at E3 today. While the much awaited FIFA 16 is yet to be released, a lot of fans of the gaming series seem pleased with what they have seen so far in the demo. From what is seen in the new game, one of the most remarkable features is the realistic feel of the game. In previous versions of FIFA, goalkeepers were able to catch the ball with ease regardless of the pace at which it came towards them. But in FIFA 16, goalkeepers will find it more difficult to catch the ball if the shot is too powerful. Another improvement is that they are able to use their entire body to get in the way of the ball and prevent it from going into the back of the net.
You can play the FIFA Ultimate Team Draft, too. The demo lets you build a squad then take it into an offline match. In the video below, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher give FUT Draft a whirl. It's TOP BANTS! FIFA Trainer is in the demo, too. This is the new contextual training system that runs while you play. You can turn it off if you want. Six of the new skill games are in the demo. These can be played while matches are loading. There's also Bundesliga Broadcast Presentation on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. You get this when Borussia Dortmund play Borussia M?nchengladbach at BORUSSIA-PARK. That last bit is especially interesting in light of the not-entirely-positive reaction to the rollout of price ranges last year. EA said at the time that they would help "to ensure a level playing field for all FUT fans," and claimed that they had in fact helped reduce illegitimate coin trading, but quite a number of FIFA players were vocally unhappy about the change.
EA is also changing the Transfer Market economies so that coins, club items, and Transfer Market items cannot be shared between console generations. This isn't really our bag but if you ever spend any of your FUT time on a console you'll want to ensure you choose the right one when you set up your FUT 16 account. EA Sports has all the details. FIFA 16 launches Sept. 22 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It is the first edition of FIFA to have no presence on any Nintendo platform since 2000.
