October 21 – The blurring of ‘sporting’ boundaries and rights ownership that eSports throw up is brought sharply into focus again today with the EA Sports-sanctioned FIFA 22 Challenge.
This event will also introduce the viewership rewards program for FIFA 22, with exclusive in-game items like an Adidas 99 Kit. As a result, viewers of this event will be the first recipients of this year’s exclusive in-game rewards. Moreover, EA will reveal a new FIFA Ultimate Team content update, in partnership with Adidas during the broadcast.
Played in the 2vs2 format, the competition sees four pairs representing Team EA, play four pairs representing Team Adidas – in effect Adidas has transitioned its traditional sponsorship activity from kit to team ‘ownership’ for this event.

When do FGS Swaps start in FIFA 22?
The first opportunity to earn FGS Tokens this year will be the 2v2 FIFA 22 Challenge on October 21 at 7 PM GMT (2 PM EST), streamed on the FGS Twitch channel.

Competition runs across the official EA SPORTS FIFA esports Twitch and YouTube channels today at 11a PT. The FIFA 22 Challenge is a sequel to EA’s most-watched esports broadcast of all time, the FIFA 21 Challenge. Last year’s edition drew an average minute audience (AMA) of 254,057 with a total watch time of 1,024,696 hours.
How to redeem FIFA 22 FGS Swap Tokens
These tokens will arrive into your FIFA 22 Ultimate Team account after you earn them. Don’t be worried if they do not arrive into your account straight away, as it could take up to 24 hours.
