Developer EA Canada has made a big deal out of FIFA 16's "next-gen goalkeepers," and while they can still make some ludicrous errors as was the case in previous games, on the whole they're more intelligent than ever before. More adept 'keepers will fly through the air to reach a ball sailing into the top corner of the goal, they'll spread out their bodies in order to cover more of the goal mouth when placed in a one-on-one situation with a striker and they'll fight to contain loose balls inside the box. They’re in no way infallible, though; taking a long-range, well-placed punt from outside the area will trick them, leaving them motionless as the ball sails into the net. While this kind of behavior will likely be met with choruses of "Why didn't he jump for that?!" it certainly mimics the reactions of real-life ‘keepers when placed in similar situations, unable to correctly judge the velocity and angle of shots taken from improbable areas. It also makes for some impressive goals, which is something that is generally lacking in the game.
If you do find a way you like to play, though, you’re golden, as there’s a wide variety of tournaments and a league system with rewards for avoiding relegation, earning promotion and winning silverware. It’s a lot of fun to simply build a big enough squad to meet the prerequisites for certain events, and EA always does a good job keeping things fluid with features like the Team of the Week, where you can grab special in-form versions of players performing at a high level in real life. There’s an auction house and all the other things we’ve come to expect from FIFA 16 Ultimate Team too. What’s missing? Multiplayer, though unless it was a manage-only situation, I’m not sure how that would be possible at this juncture. If you can get past one, the other will be scrambling to make up for his defending partner’s error, and then is the time to accelerate away. Theoretically, you only really have to beat one player here, if you know what you’re doing.
When you first begin playing with someone, you need to pay attention to how they approach certain situations in order to defend well against them. You need to specifically note which direction they turn when there is a defender on their back and the ball is coming to them, whether or not they cut inside when they have a player dribbling down the wing, etc. Of course, they won’t always do the exact same thing, but it can help to know what they are most likely to do in a situation. It’s always better than guessing. When you’ve advanced the ball far up the pitch to a final striker before your team is in line with you, you’re in quite a difficult situation. There are, however, a number of things you can do here. This isn’t always the case though. Sometimes you will need to rely on something a little more creative to get around these defenders, and skill moves present a great option.
You've realized already how a new FIFA 16 is made, right? The recipe is simple: you take the previous game, give it a few menu innovations, add a league to it and one or two stadiums, take care of something else's license, innovate with one or two celebrations, update the equipment, balls and balls, somewhat improve the players' digitization, give these advertisement a new color (this year's will be dark blue), adjust the players’ ratings, take care of transfers and then you lower the game's speed according the community’s feedback of last year. And throw it on the market. Knowing all that, are you still going to buy it? I will.
If you wanna know how certain I am about FIFA 16, wait until E3 and see. We're almost there. It's like an old friend of mine from Portugal used to say, 'I never mistake myself and rarely have doubts'. Imagine if he had… Player exchange is a new feature that gives fans more chances to get the players they really want. Instead of selling or discarding unwanted players, fans will be able to exchanging them for random, new, player items. The higher the quality of players offered to exchange, the better the chances of getting a high rated player in return. There is no FIFA 16 or FIFA 17 Mobile. From now on, the name is ‘EA Sports FIFA’ and you don’t have to install it year after year.
